Simon White (CTO and founder) and Richard Roberts (CEO and founder) preparing plans for The Knowledge Zone

A series of masterclasses on every aspect of buying and selling a boat will be held at TheYachtMarket.com Southampton Boat Show, which starts its 10-day run on 15 September.

The title sponsor has created a designated Knowledge Zone on its stand, E040, where a range of speakers will cover topics as wide-ranging as preparing a boat for sale, ocean safety, VAT and yachts… to epoxy made easy and the importance of life jackets.

The first speaker to take to the stage at 12.30 on opening day will be Sarah Ahluwalia from SAAL Design, who will be sharing her insight into yacht interiors.

She will be followed throughout the show’s 10-day run by speakers from organisations such as the RYA, Ocean Safety, Hampshire Fire & Rescue and HMRC’s specialist yacht unit.

Richard W. Roberts, CEO and founder of TheYachtMarket.com, said: “We are thrilled to be launching the first ever Knowledge Zone at this year’s show. Our aim is to give people who might be thinking of buying or selling a boat expert advice on which to base their decisions. The truth is the whole process is fraught with pitfalls and as market leader we felt the more we can do to help people the better.

“Each day there will be practical hints, tips, demonstrations and advice from top experts. We want to extend that invitation to the manufacturers so they too can have another platform to engage with potential clients. We believe we have put together a comprehensive programme and I would like to thank each and every speaker for their commitment and time.”
