Any boat owner will recognise this as a very sad sight!

Driving my daughter to work this morning in the aftermath of Storm Katie I came across this scene.

A number of boats had been washed up on the shore close to Port Solent. Boatshed shared pictures of the boats in the hope that someone would recognise the vessels and be able to notify the owners so that they could get them secured and ready to move on the next tide.

It's a good idea to check your boats are still ok, on their moorings and that they haven't suffered any damage.

We would recommend that swinging mooring tackle is checked regularly along with checking lines for chaffing and weak spots. Sadly this scene is not unusual after storms.
