We had a very special royal visit to Plymouth yesterday. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II travelled to Plymouth's Naval base at Devonport dockyard, just a stone's throw away from the Boatshed Plymouth office.

She arrived in style by train to visit HMS Ocean. The Royal Navy Helicopter Carrier Warship was ready for rededication following a £65 million refit to its living quarters, internal systems and weaponry.

As the role of Lady Sponsor for HMS Ocean, the Queen is kept informed of all activities & operations and was invited to be part of the rededication ceremony now the Royal Navy Warship is ready to resume operational service.

It was a glorious, sunny day in Plymouth for the visit, ceremony, parade and royal departure by helicopter.
