Plymouth, Britains Ocean City, will this year host the worlds oldest single-handed sailing race, The Transat.

Originally held in 1960, the race will begin on Monday 2nd May 2016 & competitors will navigate a 2,800 mile transatlantic course from Plymouth to New York.

Sutton Harbour, Plymouth will host the competing boats in the UK whilst a brand new Brooklyn based marina in Brooklyn Bridge Park, opposite Manhatten, will host the finishing vessels in New York.
