A PART OF OUR HISTORY!
THIS BOAT HAS JUST BEEN REDUCED in PRICE !! ANY SERIOUS OFFERS ABOVE THIS PRICE PLEASE!!
This ex RNLI Liverpool Single screw lifeboat was on station at Blackpool and is said that it carried out the last rescue under sail . It was in active service from 1937 untill it went into the reserve fleet in 1964.

It saved 32 lives while on station at Blackpool and the owner has alot of photographs and records including "Pathe News" of it being lunched by a member of the Royal Family.

The current owner has spent thousands of pounds restoring this historic vessel with attention to detail. The wheelhouse was built along with many other things during 2004. Also much of the side decks were replaced.

I stepped aboard this vessel and compared with todays modern lifeboat these were primative but reasuring to the seafearers that seeked there help.
The lifeboatman of that day had no where to hide from the weather, just there oil skins and cork life belts for protection.

Another interesting point that I noticed is that it was desgined to be launched from a beach plus be in shallow water, the shaft & propeller are protected by a wooden tunnel .

The boat is ready to undertake a sea voyage and having todays comfort of heating in the wheelhouse and modern navigation equipment.

Overall a very special vessel that needs good home to preserve a part of our history!
