Italian builder presents first electric boat model

Italian boatbuilder Capoforte is preparing its first fully electric model, the SQ240i, which is to make its public debut at boot Düsseldorf in January 2023.

For this first electric model, designer Christian Grande has penned a hull optimised for the Molabo Iscad 50kW inboard electric engine or the Yamaha 3.7kW outboard motor with pod. It is 7.38 metres long and 2.46 metres wide, and can carry up to eight people.

The company claims the boat ‘responds to the desire to keep pace with the latest new technologies and demands of the market with a new philosophy of boating’.

The entire hull is made with infusion technology, and the wide, rounded bow permits a deck layout focused on comfort.

“The relaxed and convivial atmosphere on deck is enhanced by an extremely versatile layout, in which a large folding table can make room for an additional cushion,” explains Grande. “In the latter configuration, the entire bow section of the boat is transformed into a full-beam sundeck for maximum comfort.”

After a limited series of private events organised by the dealers’ network, the Capoforte SQ240i will make its official public debut at the upcoming boot Düsseldorf (21-29 January 2023).

SQ240i’s central console makes it easy to move about safely, and the large central sundeck at the stern allows maximum enjoyment of the full-width swim platform.
