Broker's Comments
The Moody 29 is a remarkably spacious yacht for her length. With a beamy, deep-bodied hull she offers roomy accommodation and good steady handling and performance in typical Moody style.
This yacht appears to have been very well looked after with many improvements throughout the period of her current ownership.
The cockpit is big and well thought-out. Typical Moody quality and practicality: there is a locker under the sole, big enough to swallow an inflatable dinghy or, as in this case, a couple of very big fenders. A further hatch in the locker gives great access to the gearbox and aft section of the engine. At the bow there is a deep well in the deck at the stem-head which makes working on the foredeck a safer experience. Her sprayhood, dodgers and sail bag all appear to be in very good condition also.
Bright ideas abound below decks as well. Notable among these is the saloon table: a substantial piece of timber that folds against the main bulkhead when underway. When required, it hinges down and unfolds to provide a huge dining table, revealing excellent safe bulwark shelf storage. A neat idea, executed by craftsmen.
This particular vessel appears in very good condition. Externally, the finish is clean, tidy and sound. She has clearly been well looked-after, as exemplified by the condition of the upholstery, and its remarkably clean and tidy headlining’s.
This is a splendid quality cruiser of its time, and I would recommend an early viewing.
