Broker's Comments

This solid steel classic cruiser that proudly served us during WWII has been the home of the present owners for the last 11 years.

Shortly after being built in Holland for an English gentleman, she was requisitioned by the Admiralty. Her active service included Boom Defence/Patrol boat up on the Tyne and as tender for the Minesweeping Division down at Yarmouth. Two of her sister ships the ‘Marsayro’ and the ‘Lady Delft’ served at Dunkirk.

After having new engines fitted in 1948, she was returned to the original gentleman who looked after her right up until 1988.

She has been extensively improved and updated by her present owners to make her a comfortable live aboard. The wheel house that’s glazed all around is a great reception area that’s been repaired and polished and has kept a lot of its original character.

The saloon, which has been refitted with oak faced ply & Iroko trim, is spacious, has plenty of headroom and it’s own wood/solid fuel heater to keep her cosy. It also has a Nav table tucked in one corner and a large shelf for a TV in the other.

The rest of the living accommodation comprises of a galley fitted-out up forward, a good-sized aft cabin with double bed, a shower room/heads and a second cabin (big enough for bunk beds) which is currently used as a utility room with washing machine and generator etc.

Although the present owners have used her to cruise around Plymouth Sound, the engines haven’t been used for a while. They would require an engineer to check / service them before use.

She is a great live aboard / houseboat that could be transported to your location of choice by low-loader or by sea. She has lots of potential.
