Broker's Comments

Reliable, strong and purposely designed for blue water cruising, the high volume, centre cockpit Oyster 39's make for a wonderful live-aboard / sail abroad to enable you to get out there and live your dream.

Registered by Lloyds and renowned for their high build quality, these vessels were built to survive and built to last. In fact, it was an Oyster 39 ‘Morningtown’ that remained on task as a radio relay vessel throughout the severe weather during the infamous '79 Fastnet race.

This example is particularly well travelled and, cosmetically, a new owner may want to tidy up/update the interior a little. From a practical point of view though, she has all she needs for further adventures.

The present owner, who has sailed many miles on her single handedly, has spent extensively on everything that makes a yacht function and sail better. This vessel has an excellent navigation fit, which includes 3 chart plotters with world wide electrical charts, HF radio, radar and integrated AIS. The in-mast Main, Mizzen and furling Genoa all enable easier sail handling whilst most tasks can be controlled from the roomy centre cockpit.

Down below there’s plenty of space, a saloon with good head room, a practical linear galley with a large upright fridge & twin sinks and the Nav station is well equipped. The comfortable aft cabin has a double berth, a single berth and an en-suite heads/shower compartment. The forecabin can be set up as two singles or one double berth and just aft of it is a second heads/shower compartment. There is plenty of storage room throughout and there’s even a most useful bosun’s locker/workshop, accessible from on deck or through a door aft of the Nav station.

This yacht has only had two owners from new. The first spent most of his time in the Med particularly around the Balearics whilst the second owner spent most of his time out in the Caribbean and sailed back to the UK single handedly. Where would you like to spend your time on this most seaworthy and comfortable yacht?
