Plymouth Ocean City Festival

Plymouths Ocean City Festival kicks off on the 5th of September and runs right through to the 27th. A series of events, aimed at the whole community, will be run from the Barbican, Royal William Yard and other areas focusing on marine science / technology, marine education / exploration & of course seafood!

In addition to events like the Submarine Service Open Day, the ever popular Seafood Festival & a cardboard boat race in Sutton Harbour (!), there will also be the Blue Mile Race which aims to raise money for the Shark Trust & encourage people of all ages to enjoy our beautiful Devon coastline.

Participants can swim, kayak or stand up paddle board their way around the Plymouth waterfront on a one mile course beginning at the Barbican Mayflower Steps. For more info, visit www.thebluemile.com.
