The Boatshed brokers are busy bees, but sometimes they ponder what has happened to aboat after it has changed owners, especially when sold to someone who has a specific objective in mind as to why they need a certain vessel.

Corinne Boatshed Isle of Wight’s broker has been following the progress James Muggoch a Londoner who bought 'Annie of Orford', a David Sadler Frigate from Boatshed in February 2015.

On February 1st 2016 James and ‘Annie’ will be embarking on an Atlantic crossing sailing single handedly from Lanzarote in the Canary Islands to the West Indies.

James' intention is to sail into Grenada and donate the vessel to the Grand Anse Sea Scouts. Combined with a long term sustainable funding plan, James will provide the Sea Scouts with an opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills insailing, with a personal goal to increase their potential employment opportunities within the Grenadian Sailing industry.

To read more about this fantastic venture, James, Annie of Orford and possibly donate – take a look at his website here.

You can also track the adventure via Facebook.

And on Saturday December 12th there is a party at 'One Over The Ait' pub at Kew Bridge to raise awareness (and maybe some funds) for James’ single-handed sail to Grenada. Live band, raffle, and various short speeches.Free entry, normal bar prices and a great time. Please come and enjoy yourselves!
