Broker's Comments
Introduced in 1980 The Silverton 37 Convertible was in production until 2001 with slight modifications and updating thru the 21 year production run. The hull is solid fiberglass laminates, while the decks and superstructures used composites and are cored with balsa and plywood core materials for weight reductions and strength. This boat appears to be holding up well. If you are looking for a family cruiser that will perform just as well as a sport fishing boat that can handle big water this is the boat for you.
This Silverton will do fine either way do to its large galley & saloon with seating for 6 to 8 adults. The layout is a galley down and to port with a large head and shower forward, forward is the owners cabin / V berth. To port is the u shaped saloon table with seating for 6. It will convert to a second double berth. The upper saloon offers great visibility almost 360 and is totally open for you to finish with your own furnishings. The main saloon opens with a sliding glass hatch to a large aft cockpit 7’X11’ for outdoor entertaining of fishing . There is wiring for 2 electric down-riggers (not sold with boat). The flybridge is a popular feature on this boat. It is large with bench seating forward of the helm console and 2 seats at the helm.
This is not a fast boat but faster than the post 1989 37C . Power comes from twin Crusader 454 CID 350hp you should expect to cruise nice at 18 knts in fair weather with a clean bottom. All though I have not been on board to see it she should top out at 30 knts. Auxiliary Electric power comes from Westerberke Generator with 385 hours
