The Plymouth Eddystone Charity Sailing Pursuit

The Plymouth Eddystone Charity Sailing Pursuit is scheduled to take place this coming Saturday, 23rd June 2018.

The pursuit follows a 26 mile offshore course in Plymouth Sound from Yacht Haven to the Lighthouse and back. Known more as a ‘fun chase’ than a race, the exact course is decided 24 hours before and announced at the Plymouth National Marine Aquarium on Friday 22nd June at 6.30pm.

Beginning back in 2002, the Eddystone Charity Sailing Pursuit is now considered the 1/3 largest fund raising event in the South West and each of the 80 approx yacht entries is required to raise sponsorship money for their own nominated registered charity.

Results, prizes and trophies are awarded at the after-race supper at the National Marine Aquarium.

The competing yachts, depending on their performance / speed, set off at different times, with the hope that they will all get back around the same time in the afternoon.

Boatshed is taking part on a 1976 Rebel Ketch ‘Supertaff’ in aid of the charity Sail for Cancer. If you would like to support us, please go to the link https://www.justgiving.com/neil-chapman10
