The Transat bakerly 2016 - Plymouth to New York

Four day's & counting until Plymouth, Britain's Ocean City, host’s the worlds oldest single-handed sailing race, The Transat bakerly 2016.

Originally held in 1960, the race will begin at 2.30pm on Monday 2nd May 2016 & competitors will navigate a 2,800 mile transatlantic course from Sutton Harbour, Plymouth to Brooklyn, New York.

Around 40 monohull / multihull vessels are expected to take part & competing boats have now arrived at Yacht Haven & Sutton Habour.

The Race Village is at West Pier & Commercial Wharf whilst the following events are expected to take place, in celebration of the race, on Plymouth’s Barbican waterfront:

Saturday 30th April 2016:

Ocean City Rhythm & Blues Jazz Festival 2pm-9pm

Fireworks Display 9.15pm

Sunday 1st May 2016:

Ocean City Rhythm & Blues Jazz Festival 1pm-6pm

30 Minute Airshow 2pm

Monday 2nd May 2016:

Ocean City Rhythm & Blues Jazz Festival 12-5pm

Race begins 2.30pm
