Thought to be built in the fifties this was a Lighter 851 civilian fuel barge which was converted for the Royal Navy in 1986. Used as a Seamanship Training Barge she was moored at Jupiter Point near Torpoint. She is solidly constructed from steel plate and was kept in top condition by the Royal Navy until her decommissioning in 2007.

Boatshed Plymouth are pleased to offer this Ex Navy Training Barge for sale.
Originally a Lighter 851 civilian fuel vessel she was converted into a Seamanship Training Barge by the Royal Navy in 1986. She was moored near Plymouth and kept in commission until 2007 when she was sold. As expected with a MOD vessel, no expense was spared in keeping her within full regulations and in top condition. We have a box full of old surveys and details of works carried out on her.
The current owners have converted her into comfortable living accommodation over the last 3 years. They have completed large areas of the boat such as the electrics, kitchen, bathrooms, heating (and air conditioning) but there is still plenty of scope in parts of the boat yet to be converted. She is vast inside with plenty of room for the largest of families to live in or perhaps for a commercial use (subject to compliance with the necessary regulations).
